FAQ
Yes, we can always use more help for the A4A Forum and our year-round events. The only limit is the time and dedication of our amazing community.
Whether on the day or beforehand, we’d love to have you involved in future events!
Find out more on our Get Involved page.
For a super quick way to help right now, please follow / subscribe to @A4ACommunity on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. The more we build our network, the more we can build our collective grassroots power – which is what gives us hope every day that a just and gentle world is not only possible, but on her way ♡.
SE Qld has more amazing activist orgs and experts than can fit on a single day’s program, and our sessions filled up in the blink of an eye.
However, this is a forum for our movement, not a standard conference where speakers have a say and everyone else is just a passive recipient. The whole aim is to exchange insights and learn from each other. So, if you do great stuff for animals – whether as an individual, an organisation or as a business – then please come! This is a platform for you, too.
There will be discussion opportunities throughout the day, and a dedicated slot for shout-outs during the closing session. There will also be a table for literature / business cards etc, so bring your stuff. As long as what you do helps animals, we’d love to feature it.
Please contact us if you’re a charity and want to have a table or banner and we’ll see what can be done. And if you’d like to be a speaker at a future forum, please also express your interest via the contact form.
All catering is vegan. The Forum lunch always includes a gluten-free option that you can choose when booking your ticket.
For any other dietary requirements, let us know and as long as we have some notice, we will look into it.
All our events are volunteer run, and if there is a cost at all – as with the full-day catered A4A Forum – we price tickets to mostly cover costs. All the forums so far have run at a very slight loss, and that’s how we like it.
Our caterers are fellow activists who share generous community pricing. In 2025 Farm Animal Rescue sanctuary prepared the food, with profits supporting their vital work. In 2024 we worked with the amazing Vega Cafe (whose beautiful venue is the home base for many of our year-round events), and at the first forum back in 2019, we were lucky enough to have volunteer catering pros Paul and Lisa taking care of the food.
We accept donations for the forum only so we can make the standard tickets reasonably priced; we think this issue is too important for anyone to not attend because of costs. If there’s ever a surplus, the funds will go to AnimalKIND who auspice the forum.
If you like what we do and want to discuss funding more like it, whether in SEQ or around the country, please get in touch for a chat.
Our 2025 venue, Spring Hill Hall, is a 9-minute walk from Fortitude Valley train station.

There are also a number of bus stops near the venue.
Check out walking directions on Google Maps or public transport times via the Translink Journey Planner.
Fortitude Valley also has plenty of parking.
Accessibility is a prime factor in choosing the venue for the forum and all other events that we organise.
For details about the 2025 Forum venue, please consult Communify: bookings.communify.org.au/venues/spring-hill-hall and bookings.communify.org.au/venues/spring-hill-studio.
There may be videos or discussions that won't be suitable for children.
We would recommend 14 as the minimum age, with adult supervision.
We want our events to be as close to zero waste as possible! Resource extraction and polluting our environment aren’t good for animals either.
You can help us achieve this by bringing a keep cup/mug for your tea/coffee and a water bottle.
The venue has a very limited number of cups for people who don’t bring them.
AnimalKIND is the official organisation behind the event.
The organising group is comprised of volunteer Brisbane-based activists, including ones who run the Brisbane Vegan Meetup, AnimalKind Volunteer Hub, and regular Digital Activism gatherings.

We are trialling recording the sessions this year, subject to consent from the presenters.
